SnapTheDupe is built to need as little information as possible. There are no accounts, no sign-ups and no tracking cookies.

Photos and descriptions

When you search, your photo (shrunk on your phone first) and your description are sent to our AI provider to work out what the item is. They're used only to answer that one search. We don't save your photos or descriptions, and we don't use them to identify anyone.

What our servers keep

Like almost every website, our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs (such as the time of a request and basic error details) to keep the site running and stop abuse. We use a temporary, anonymous request counter to limit how many searches can be made per minute.

Amazon links

When you tap a link to Amazon, you leave SnapTheDupe. Amazon may use cookies to know you came from us, so we can earn a small commission if you buy. That doesn't change the price you pay. Amazon's own privacy notice applies on Amazon.

Fonts

Our fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads, as with any website that uses them.

Saved on your device

If you close the "add to home screen" tip, your browser remembers that on your own device so the tip doesn't come back. If you add SnapTheDupe to your home screen, your phone keeps a copy of the page so it opens faster.

Kids

SnapTheDupe isn't directed at children under 13.
